Hermès, the iconic French luxury brand was established in 1837 and specializes in leather and lifestyle accessories, perfumes and ready to wear. Hermès sales are composed of about 30% leather goods, 15% clothes, 12% scarves, and 43% other wares. The company does not license products and keeps a tight control over the design, manufacture, and availability of its vast inventory, guaranteeing the quality and uniqueness of Hermès products.
The purpose of this project was to redesign the Hermès website. The tone and imagery of the new design heavily emphasize the brand’s craftsmanship and rich heritage. In order to design a better navigation system, elements of the brand’s heritage have been added in a story-telling format to appeal to aspirational customers, especially in emerging countries where there is less brand awareness & absence of retail stores.
